2010-02-27 10:45- After almost a year and a half living here, we finally have plans to teach some friend Tichu.
- You know that spring is (almost) here… you can smell the cows.
- For family pizza night, Alex made one with Cheerios on the crust.
- Good news: There’s now a smoking ban in public places. Bad news: It doesn’t seem to be enforced.
- When Alex is in the mood to watch Christmas movies or shows, he asks for “The Grinch That Swiped Christmas” or Ghostbusters.
Sign of the times
2010-02-15 10:52You know it’s Carnivale because:
- The guy sitting next to you on the plane is wearing Lederhosen (lit: leather pants). No, that’s not normal for where I live.
- When you land, your plane waits 15 minutes on the tarmac in Dusseldorf because there aren’t enough people working to man the gate. Then you have to wait another 10 minutes while various people unlock various doors to let you in the terminal.
- When you arrive at work, 75%+ of the staff is off for the day.
- All of the above.
