A good friend of mine, let’s call him Marc, who works for Anonymous Company, Canada came to visit us last summer.
We went to see a sand castle exhibit at Rowes Wharf.
Being a shutterbug, I took lots of pictures.
I sent Marc a copy of the pictures.
One day, one of Marc’s coworkers mentioned that Anonymous Company was having a photography contest for its company calendar. Marc picked up some pictures that were lying around on his desk at home, and entered them into the contest. One of them received 3rd place, city-wide, in the architecture category. He looked at the picture that won, and realized, hmmm… doesn’t look like mine… oh… maybe it’s Nick’s. It is, in fact, the picture you can see here to your left.
Anyway… the picture went on to win 2nd place in its category at the regional level, and 2nd place at the national level within Anonymous Company. One of my pictures will be in a calendar soon. Cool.

[...] First, it was a calendar. Then it’s appearing in various places on the internet. Now, a company, Luna Imaging kindly asked permission to use our image for their promotional material. They sent me some copies of the oversized postcards they used. Flattery will get you everywhere. We paid about $50 for the use of the ants from a photo stock agency for royalty free use. Would you allow us to use your image? There are other free images out there but we like yours just a bit more. [...]
