Apparently, this song drives kids everywhere into a tizzy. It took me until my late teens to figure out that mom was really kissing dad dressed up as Santa.

Another person relates that she was traumatized by the song as a child. This song caused a distressed six year old to realized that Santa was a “sexual being”. It also got said child to wonder why mommy was kissing someone other than daddy. I’m very impressed with her mom who was able to explain why everything was in fact OK, without letting the cat out of the bag WRT Santa.
